Kids Love Cat

What a wonderful weekend we just spent with our dear friend, Catherine, who ventured here from Charlotte, NC, and stayed with us for four days. As you can see, she was smitten with Cass. She and Lauren got along quite well, too. Why wouldn't they? What, with their affinity for fashion and literature, how could they help but love one another? (Cat showered Lauren with innumerable outfits and books.)

We enjoyed including Catherine in our Saturday morning ritual of eating pastries at a local bakery (well, she had to go to another restaurant to get oatmeal because of a wheat allergy - oops) and walking to the farmer's market (she wore her "all-terrain" flip flops for the multi-mile trek). Additionally, thanks to our friends, the Uhligs, who watched the kids one evening, we were able to take Cat out on the town for dinner and "grown-up" drinks.

We are always so thankful for our visits with Cat. We only wish they could be longer and more frequent. But, after 25 years of friendship, we're blessed with the ability to pick up right where we leave off, despite the length of time that passes between our meetings.
