Pink cheeks and warm hats

Fall has finally graced us with its presence. Temperatures have consistently been in the mid-50s all week and its been rainy the last couple days. Unfortunately, hand in hand with Fall came cold season. Everyone in our family is battling with a runny nose and cough right now, and Cass has had a fever for the last three days. The upside, his fever has given him a flushed face, leaving the cutest pink cheeks you've ever seen.

Just in time for the cold weather, I finished my first crocheting project. Cousin Lori has always said, crocheting is much faster than knitting, and she is right - in theory. Crocheting goes quickly, but finding good blocks of time to work on the project (when you have a 4-yr-old and 6-mo-old) is virtually impossible, so it actually took me a few months to complete it. And like many "first" knitting or crocheting projects, it's very organic (meaning it has some obvious bumps and holes), and what was supposed to be a baby hat for Cass turned into a hat big enough for Lauren. Oh well, it almost looks like the picture from the book, and Cass will grow into it eventually. In the meantime, Lauren makes a pretty darn cute acorn, doesn't she?
