Lauren's Softie
After Lauren begged recently for a cute ($35!@#!) handmade cat at Checkered Moon, a local gift shop, I promised to make her a one-of-a-kind softie (for $4 in fat quarters). It's not exactly as well thought out as the one at the store, but Lauren seems to love her anyway. She named her "Sparkalina" because of her sparkling necklace. We call her "Sparkle" for short.

What a nice mommy and creative and frugal, too! I'll bet Lauren will like and remember it better because you made it for her than if you'd just simply bought it for her because she wanted one that day. Good job, Mom!
